EN: Missing images on mods or skins

Starting with v230, Proton Bus will not load images with width or height larger than 2048 pixels on Android anymore. We have discovered that these huge pictures are the cause of many problems inside the simulator. Many mods use large textures, people use lots of repaints for traffic... And most mobile GPUs cannot handle these huge textures. It's even worse when there are plenty of them.

Solution 1: resize your images or repaints using a photo editor, setting their max size up to 2048 pixels of width or height. Mod creators are told to avoid these textures for mobile. Some PC mods may have huge textures, but they do not play well in most smartphones.

Solution 2: if you really wish, you may force loading these non optimized textures, even knowing that it is not recommended. Game may become unstable, crash very often or show some graphics glitches without any apparent reason while these textures are in use. It is not about a weak device, they don't work even in some high end models.

To force loading these textures, first of all be sure that the game may crash. Go to Extras settings, enable the option to unlock hidden or advanced features, then enable the option to load large textures anyway. So from now on the game will show a warning message about these huge textures, but it will let them to be loaded. If it crashes, become unstable or display graphics glitches, it's not our fault, be advised.

Even smaller imagens may be bad if you use plenty of them. Don't use too many skins for AI traffic on mobile. Some people uses ten, twenty repaints, this takes the entire bandwidth between the GPU and the processor and memory, causing problems in performance or even crashes.

You may read more about this issue here, where we comment about the discovery process. Just by removing those huge textures, most game's problems about crashing disappeared:
